At NEC Plumbing & Heating, we don’t want anyone being chilly and without hot water during the cold winter months so here’s a little check list to improve your chances of a problem free – wallet happy winter!;
• Make sure any exposed pipework is well insulated.
• If you have had a condensing boiler fitted in the last 3-4 years it will have a condense pipe. If any part of this (plastic) pipe goes outside of the house, make sure to insulate as much of this as possible.
• If your boiler is due a service – get it done! Any problems found will save money and time in the long run.
• According to the Energy Saving Trust, lowering your thermostat by one degree could save you around £55 a year
• Try and ventilate your home a little each day. Opening the windows will improve the air quality in your home and reduce the risk of coughs and colds
